Fall of Acre

Hi. We’re in the year 1291 and the Kingdom of Jerusalem is about to lose its last stronghold, the city of Acre. For weeks, the Mamluks, who have relatively recently seized power in Egypt, have been besieging the kingdom’s ultimate capital. In the middle of the assault, a few Teutonic Knights are trying to hold their ground against the Askaris’ attacks. At the center of the picture, Duke Christian I of Hohenstein (fictive character) is helping his men. Hope you like the drawing and please feel free to comment :) Elie
